Power Macintosh G3 Retail in-Store Demos

Suffering from bad press and declining market share, Apple needed to comeback strong in the retail environment. The launch of the G3 computers was vital to Apple's continued existence in the Marketplace. A key component of Apple's strategy was a strong in-store demo that got customers attention and engaged them in using the computer.

A full screen full-motion attract loop was created using time-lapse imagery to make the computer shout "Speed" and attract the customers attention. The customer was then prompted to interact with the computer to engage them in both informative and entertaining demos.

Informational sections included product movies that highlighted features and benefits of the product line.

Entertainment based sections highlighted key Apple technologies in a fun and engaging way. These sections included a QuickTime VR demonstration using Batman and Robin VR movies; A music section where viewers could create music compositions and a 3D demonstration where viewers could manipulate and texture map objects on the fly.
