Apple Performa In-Store Demo

The Apple Performa In-store demo was designed to run in the retail environment as a point of sale demo. This demo ran on the new Performa Tower units in 1996 and 1997. It's purpose was to attract customers to these computers and showcase new Apple technology with a series of hands-on demonstrations.

 

Main Loop

Full screen/ Full motion attract loop that highlights Multimedia, Internet and Education. Talent was shot against a blue screen and matted into the final compositions.

Main Menu

Features an on screen talent that is matted against the desktop and explains the various sub demos.

Sub Demos

hands-on interactive demos that highlight Apple's key technologies

  • QuickTime VR demo: Features a hands-on demo of Apple's QTVR technology.
  • Edit Home Movies: created a custom application that allows viewers to drag and drop video clips and instantly see their edited movie.
  • Surf the Net: A simulation of Netscape with a sampling of sites.
  • Use PC Disks: A demonstration showing PC and Mac compatibility
